CCI Recruitment 2026: Quick Intro

The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) is a Govt. of India Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Textiles. It steps in whenever kapas prices fall below the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and buys directly from growers across markets in cotton growing states, so that farmers are not left at the mercy of a bad season. This 2026 notification opens 148 posts across 7 categories, ranging from specialist Assistant Manager roles that need a postgraduate degree to Junior Assistant posts open to any graduate.

CCI has been conducting recruitment drives regularly, although number of vacancies and post categories have changed from year to year, for example, The 2024 recruitment had 214 posts across a similar spread of categories, while the 2025 cycle was a smaller with 147 seats limited mostly to Management Trainee, Junior Commercial Executive and a Cotton Testing Lab post. This year's 148 vacancies is almost smilar to last year's count in total number, but the mixture of posts is different. Assistant Manager posts are back after being absent in 2025, and the Information Technology specialisation is a new addition that did not exist as a standalone post in the last 2 recruitment cycles.

Vacancy Details

The total 148 seats are distributed across 7 post codes, which are shown below:

Note: Among the 148 total vacancies, Junior Commercial Executive and Junior Assistant (Accounts) together account for 100 posts, which is the largest categories in this recruitment. These posts are therefore expected to attract the highest number of applications. In contrast, the Assistant Manager posts have only 1 vacancy each, although such a limited vacancy count is common for specialised management positions.

Category-wise breakup for the three largest posts is below:

Post

SC

ST

OBC

Total

Junior Commercial Executive (105)741452050
Junior Assistant, Accounts (106)741452050
Junior Assistant, General (107)5 (+1 backlog ST)2831130

Note: within Junior Commercial Executive and Junior Assistant (Accounts), 2 posts each are reserved for PwBD candidates and 7 each for Ex-servicemen and Junior Assistant (General) carries 1 PwBD and 4 Ex-servicemen posts. These are horizontal reservations, so a PwBD or Ex-servicemen candidate can belong to any caste category and still claim this reservation benefit. Recruitment also provide 10% EWS reservation quota which is fixed by the Dept. of Personnel and Training under its January 2019 order, and it applies only if family income and asset conditions are met.

Application Fee

Category-wise fee structure is shown below:

Note: Payment happens only through the SBI online payment gateway, using debit card, credit card or net banking. Once paid, the fee is not refunded under any circumstance, and also it cannot be adjusted against any future CCI exam. Any bank or transaction charges applicable to the online payment will have to be borne by the candidate separately.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 years old as on the date of advertisement and the upper limit depends on the post = Assistant Manager (Official Language) and Assistant Manager (Information Technology) allow candidates up to 32 years, and for Management Trainee, Junior Commercial Executive and Junior Assistant posts upper age limit is 30 years. Remember all these limits are calculated as on July 9, 2026, the date of advertisement. The category wise age relaxation are shown below:

Note: Relaxations are cumulative where more than one category applies, but the total age after relaxation cannot cross 47 years for any candidate. EWS candidates get the reservation benefit but no separate age relaxation, since EWS is an income-based category rather than a community-based one. CCI employees who are regular or temporary staff and apply for these posts under direct recruitment get age relaxation only equal to their years of service in CCI, but to claim this benefit, the employee must be working one grade below the post applied for and should have at least one year of service in that lower grade.

Educational Qualification

Qualification requirments for 7 posts are detailed below:

Assistant Manager (Official Language): For this post, candidates must possess a Postgraduate Degree in Hindi with at least 50% marks, and English must have been studied as a subject up to the graduation level, and strong command over Hindi. A qualification in Hindi translation and an MBA both count as added advantages and also minimum one year of experience in a reputed organisation is compulsory.

Assistant Manager (Information Technology): A BE or B.Tech in IT or Computer Science, an MCA, or an MBA/PGDM with an IT or systems specialisation, all with 50% aggregate marks. Knowledge of ERP systems is preferred but not compulsory. This post also needs 1 year of experience in a responsible role at a reputed public or private organisation.

Management Trainee (Marketing): An MBA in Agri Business Management, or an equivalent postgraduate degree in agriculture-related management. No prior work experience is asked for.

Management Trainee (Accounts): A CA or CMA qualification. No prior work experience is asked for.

Junior Commercial Executive: A B.Sc in Agriculture from a recognised university with 50 percent aggregate marks, relaxed to 45 percent for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.

Junior Assistant (Accounts): A B.Com degree with the same 50 percent and 45 percent marks structure as above.

Junior Assistant (General): Any graduate from a recognised university, again with 50 percent aggregate marks and 45 percent for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.

Note: A separate, easier qualification scenerio exists only for candidates who are already regular or temporary CCI employees applying for Junior Commercial Executive, Junior Assistant (Accounts) or Junior Assistant (General): for them, Bachelor's Degree in any discipline under the 10+2+3 education pattern is accepted, irrespective of the stream of study, though the age relaxation condition mentioned earlier still applies.

Selection Process

For every post a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 120 objective questions with the duration 120 minutes is mandatory. Each correct answer is equal to 1 mark, and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. The subject mix within those 120 questions changes by post: English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge are the common topics among all, computer proficiency is added for most posts, and a large 60-question subject knowledge section covers domain topics specific to each post, such as Hindi language and grammar for Assistant Manager (Official Language), computer science fundamentals for Assistant Manager (IT), and cotton-specific agribusiness topics for the Marketing and agriculture-linked posts. You can check the complete details in Annexur - I (page no.17of the Official notification pdf (available in the Important Links section toward end of the page).

Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for UR, EWS and OBC candidates and 35 percent for SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-servicemen candidates. Candidates who clear the qualifying mark are shortlisted for document verification, where category, age and qualification certificates are checked against the online application.

There is no interview stage for any of the 7 posts and selection is based on the Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification for shortlisted candidates. CCI's last recruitment in 2025 also followed the same two-stage pattern of CBT and document verification without an interview. This means the CBT is the key stage of the recruitment process, as there is no interview to contribute to the final selection. Candidates should therefore focus on performing well in the written examination.

The written test will be conducted in eleven cities:

Note: Centre allotment is not guaranteed to be the candidate's first preference, and CCI has stated that requests for change of centre, date or time will not be entertained.

Salary, Job Location and Service Conditions

The salary for these posts is based on the Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) pay scale. Unlike the CDA scale used in central govt. departments, IDA pay revises periodically in line with an industrial price index, which is the standard structure across most central PSUs including CCI. The post wise salary structure is shown below:

> Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India where CCI has a branch or procurement centre, since operations run across cotton growing states through 19 branches and more than 590 market yards. Specifically for Junior Commercial Executive posts candidates may be posted in rural and remote areas, where CCI carries out cotton procurement activities, therefore, Candidates applying for this post should be prepared to work at such locations if selected. Management reserves the right to change the job profile or assign different duties to selected candidates, depending on administrative and organisational requirements.

>
Every selected candidate serves a probation period of 12 months, and confirmation in service happens only when management communicates it in writing, not automatically after 12 months pass. There is also a mandatory service bond requiring 3 years of service after joining, If a candidate leaves the organisation before completing this period, they will be required to pay an amount equal to 3 months' basic pay.

These Important points may help you better understand this recruitment:

Different Qualifications for Different Posts

The seven posts in this recruitment have different educational qualifications and eligibility criteria. Candidates should carefully check the requirements for each post, as eligibility for one post does not automatically make them eligible for another. For example, a candidate eligible for Junior Commercial Executive may not be eligible for Junior Assistant (Accounts), and vice versa, because the required qualifications are different. Similarly, the Assistant Manager posts require higher educational qualifications along with the prescribed work experience, making them suitable for experienced candidates rather than fresh graduates. Matching your own qualification to the exact post code before applying.

Competition Will Be Higher for the Junior Posts

The Junior-level posts are expected to attract the highest number of applications because they have more vacancies and comparatively broader eligibility criteria. Among them, Junior Assistant (General) is open to graduates from any discipline, which makes it accessible to a large number of candidates. Junior Commercial Executive and Junior Assistant (Accounts) require specific educational qualifications, but with 50 vacancies each, they are also expected to see strong competition. In contrast, the Assistant Manager posts have only one vacancy each and require the prescribed higher qualification along with relevant work experience, so, these eligibility conditions naturally limit the number of applicants for these posts.
