◾️Selection Process

Selection is purely on the basis of merit in the entrance exam (UGEE/PGEE/DEE). After the exam, result and merit list will be published on the website. Then online or offline counselling will be held in multiple rounds. You have to register for counselling, pay counselling fee of Rs. 500 and choose your preferred course and college. Seat will be allotted as per your rank, category and availability. After allotment you have to pay seat acceptance fee and report for document verification and medical test. Admission is provisional until all documents are verified.

◾️Who should NOT apply and why

If you are not interested in animals or science subjects, please do not apply. Veterinary courses involve hard practical work with animals, early morning classes, night duties during internship and sometimes tough conditions in rural areas. If you cannot live away from home or do not have Uttar Pradesh domicile for certain courses, you may face problems. Also, if your 10+2 percentage is below the required marks, your application will be rejected at counselling stage. Save your time and money if these conditions do not match.

◾️Is this admission good for freshers?

Yes, absolutely. Most students apply right after 12th for UG courses. DUVASU is student-friendly and has excellent hostel facilities, libraries and sports grounds. Freshers get full support from seniors and faculty. The course structure is designed to build strong basics first and then move to advanced practical training. Many students who were average in school have become successful veterinarians from here because of proper guidance and hands-on training.

◾️Career Prospects after these courses

After B.V.Sc. & A.H. you can become a government veterinary officer, start your own clinic, work in dairy farms, zoos, wildlife sanctuaries or join army as veterinary officer. Many students clear ICAR exams and go for higher studies or research. Biotechnology and dairy graduates get jobs in private companies, food processing units and research labs. Diploma holders can work as veterinary pharmacists or livestock extension officers in government and private sectors. The field is growing fast because of increasing demand for animal healthcare and dairy products in India. You will never sit idle if you study sincerely.

◾️Promotion and career growth

Once you join government service after B.V.Sc., you start as Veterinary Officer and can rise to Deputy Director, Joint Director and even Director level. In private sector, hardworking veterinarians open big clinics or become consultants for big dairy companies. PG and Ph.D. holders get teaching jobs in universities or research positions in ICAR institutes. Regular promotions, dearness allowance and other benefits make it a secure career. Many alumni are now in high positions in UP animal husbandry department.

◾️Common application mistakes students make

Many students fill wrong domicile details or choose wrong subject combination and later regret. Some forget to pay the fee or upload wrong size photo. A big mistake is not reading the prospectus fully and applying without checking eligibility. Some miss the last date because they think they have more time. Always double-check every entry before final submission and keep a copy of the filled form.

◾️Real preparation advice

Start preparing now even if you are applying. For UGEE focus on NCERT Physics, Chemistry and Biology of class 11 and 12. Solve at least 10 previous year papers. Make a daily timetable – 3 hours study, 1 hour revision. Join a good test series for practice. For PG students revise your graduation notes thoroughly. Stay healthy, sleep well and avoid last-minute stress. Remember, consistent study of 4-5 hours daily is better than 10 hours one day and zero the next. Believe in yourself – many students crack this exam every year.

◾️Why this admission is a good opportunity

DUVASU is a reputed university with VCI recognition for veterinary courses. The fee is reasonable compared to private colleges and you get excellent practical exposure. Location in Mathura is safe and connected to all major cities. After passing, you get direct chance for government jobs and further studies.
