Educational Qualification and Additional Eligibility Conditions:

1️⃣ Essential Qualification: Bachelor's Degree from any University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

2️⃣ Language Requirement: Candidate must be able to speak Assamese or other official language or associate official languages of the State or any of the tribal languages of Assam.

3️⃣ Employment Registration: Candidate must be registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.

4️⃣ Domicile: Candidate must be an original inhabitant of Assam.

Small Family Norms: Candidates must submit a declaration regarding "The Small Family Norms" in Form-A at the time of applying.

Selection Process

The Combined Competitive Examination consists of three successive stages:

▶Stage I: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

☑Two papers of objective type multiple choice questions (Paper-I: General Studies I, Paper-II: General Studies II)

☑Duration: 2 hours each

☑Marks: 200 marks each (Total 400 marks)

☑Paper-II is qualifying in nature (minimum 33% marks required)

☑Negative marking: One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for wrong answers

☑Serves as screening test only; marks not counted for final merit

☑Candidates will be shortlisted for Main Examination in the ratio of 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies

▶Stage II: Main Examination

☑Written Examination: Six papers of conventional essay type (Paper-1: Essay, Papers 2-6: General Studies)

☑Marks: 250 marks each (Total 1500 marks for written)

☑Duration: 3 hours each

☑Candidates may write answers in English or Assamese

☑Candidates shortlisted for Main Exam will be 11-12 times the number of vacancies

▶Stage III:

☑Personality Test (Interview)

☑Marks: 180 marks

☑Candidates called in the ratio of 1:3 against the number of vacancies

☑No qualifying marks; marks obtained added to Written Examination marks for final ranking

☑Tests mental caliber, intellectual qualities, social traits, and interest in current affairs

☑Final Selection: Based on total marks obtained in Main Examination (Written + Interview) and preference opted by candidates, subject to reservation rules.

Important Instructions

🔘Eligibility Verification: Admission at all stages is purely provisional subject to verification of original documents. Mere issue of e-Admission Certificate does not imply final clearance.

🔘Centre Selection: Preliminary Examination centers include Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Jorhat, and other district headquarters. Main Examination will be held in Guwahati only. No request for change of centre will be entertained.

🔘Government Employees: Persons already in government service must submit an undertaking at the time of application and NOC/Forwarding Letter at the time of Interview.

🔘PwBD Facilities: Scribe facility available for PwBD candidates in categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected), and cerebral palsy. For other PwBD categories, scribe facility provided based on medical certificate regarding physical limitation to write.
