Educational Qualification:

• 12th Class pass from a recognized Board
• Typing speed of 35 words per minute in English OR 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer
• These typing speeds correspond to 10500 KDPH/9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions per word
• Time allowed for typing test: 10 minutes

For all posts: 18 to 25 years

Important for SC/ST/OBC candidates: Candidates applying against Unreserved posts are not entitled to any relaxation in age limit, experience, or other parameters.

The selection process is multi-staged and designed to test both knowledge and practical ability:

Stage 1 - Scrutiny: All received applications will first be checked for compliance with age limit, minimum qualification, and required documents.

Stage 2 - Written Test (100% Weightage): Eligible candidates will be called for a written test. The written test carries full weightage in the final merit.

Stage 3 - Skill/Practical/Physical Test (Qualifying Only): Based on merit in the written test, candidates will be shortlisted and called for a skill/practical/physical test wherever applicable. This stage is qualifying in nature and does not add to marks.

Special note for PwBD candidates: As per Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment OM No. 18-25/2024-Policy dated 17 December 2025, PwBD candidates with disability conditions falling under "likely to improve" (temporary disability) are not eligible for reservation. Only those whose condition is "progressive, non-progressive or not likely to improve" are to be treated eligible for reservation.

Typing exemption for PwBD: Candidates certified by Medical Board attached to Special Employment Exchanges (or Civil Surgeon where no such board exists) as unable to type may be exempted from the typing test. Such candidates must submit the Medical Certificate in the prescribed Annexure-II format.

EWS Certificate - Critical Validity Requirement

Candidates seeking EWS reservation must ensure their Income and Asset Certificate is valid for Financial Year 2026-2027. This certificate must be issued on the basis of income for Financial Year 2025-2026.

For example: If the last date for application receipt is 30 April 2026, the Income and Asset Certificate must be valid for Financial Year 2026–27, based on the income of Financial Year 2025-26.

OBC Candidates - Creamy Layer Rules

OBC candidates applying for reserved posts must ensure their caste is listed in the Central List of OBCs. Only those listed under Central List are eligible for appointment to Central Services.

Additionally, OBC candidates must submit a certificate declaring non-belonging to the creamy layer along with their application. Without this certificate, OBC reservation claims will not be accepted.

This recruitment follows a completely offline (physical) application process. Here's how to go about it:

Step 1: Download or note the Annexure-I application format from the official notification.

Step 2: Fill the application form clearly in English or Hindi (block letters where specified).

Step 3: Attach a recent passport-size photograph (duly self-attested).

Step 4: Attach the following self-attested documents:

Critical: IAF will not be held responsible for any postal delays. Applications received before or after the publication date of this notification will not be entertained.

• Candidates may submit applications to any Air Force Station where they meet the eligibility requirements for the post.
• No travel allowance or daily allowance will be provided for appearing in the recruitment process.
• Test venue details will be informed separately to shortlisted applicants and may not be the same as the unit where the application was sent.
• Appointed candidates can be posted anywhere in India as per service requirements.     

• Those attending skill, practical, or physical tests must carry original documents along with photocopies.

Q1. Can I apply to multiple Air Force Stations for the same post? Yes, you can apply to multiple stations. However, you must send separate applications to each station individually. A single application addressed to multiple stations will not be valid.

Q9. Does selection guarantee posting at the applied station? Selected candidates are subject to All India Service Liability, meaning posting decisions ultimately rest with IAF authorities. However, vacancies are station-specific, so typically initial placement is at or near the applied station.

Q10. Can a Departmental Employee apply for this recruitment? Yes, departmental employees can apply. They enjoy age relaxation up to 40 years (UR) and 45 years (SC/ST). However, they must meet all other eligibility criteria.

Q11. What if I belong to a caste that is in the State list of OBCs but not in the Central List? You will not be eligible for OBC reservation. Only castes appearing in the Central List of OBCs qualify for reservation in Central Government services, which includes IAF civilian posts.
