◾️Vacancy Distribution: Category-wise Breakup

Out of the 48 total vacancies, the distribution has been made strictly as per the reservation policy of the Government of Bihar. Women candidates enjoy a horizontal reservation of 35%, which translates to 15 reserved posts out of the total. Special Note: There is no seat reserved under the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category in this recruitment. ◾️Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

1. Nationality Requirements

A candidate applying for the post of Computer Operator-cum-Typist must be:

• A citizen of India, OR
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1972 with the intention of permanently settling in India, OR

2. Educational Qualifications (As on 01.01.2026)

The candidate must possess the following essential qualifications as on 1st January 2026:

1. Graduation: A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised University or Institution.
2. Computer Course: A Diploma or Certificate of at least six months' duration in Computer Application from a recognised institution.
3. Typing Proficiency Certificate: Demonstrating typing speed of:

   • 30 words per minute in Hindi

3. Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)

Age Relaxation Provisions

• Government Employees: Candidates currently employed under the Central Government or Government of Bihar are eligible for an upper age relaxation of 5 years.
• Locomotor Disabled Candidates: An additional age relaxation of 10 years is provided over and above their respective category age limit, subject to production of a valid Disability Certificate from the Competent Authority.
• Existing High Court Staff: The age limit shall not apply to persons already serving in the establishment of the High Court, those engaged on daily wages, or those working in subordinate courts or placed on deputation.
• Bihar Domicile Requirement: Category-based age relaxation will only be granted to candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar. Such candidates must produce a Domicile (Permanent Residential) Certificate along with their Caste/Category/Non-Creamy Layer Certificate at the time of document verification.

4. Character, Marital Status, and Physical Fitness

• Character: The character of the candidate must render him/her suitable for appointment to the High Court service. Persons terminated, dismissed, or convicted of serious offences (other than those punishable with only fine) are deemed ineligible.
• Marital Status: A male candidate having more than one wife alive, or a female candidate married to a person already having a wife alive, shall not be eligible.
• Physical Fitness: Candidates must be in good mental and physical health. A medical certificate of physical fitness from a Government Medical Officer (not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent) is required at the time of joining.

For EWS married women, the Income and Asset Certificate must be issued from the permanent residence of her husband, but the domicile/permanent residence certificate must contain the father's name and address to establish that she is a native resident of Bihar.

Locomotor Disabled Quota: Only persons having not less than 40% (forty percent) of relevant disability are eligible. A Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed proforma is mandatory. Such candidates will also undergo a medical examination by a Medical Board constituted by the Court before final selection. Importantly, there is NO provision for a Scribe or extra time in any part/stage of the examination for Locomotor Disabled Candidates.

Key Features of the Written Test

• No Negative Marking in Part-A of the Written Test for incorrect answers.
• The candidate must qualify in ALL three parts (Part-A, Part-B, Part-C) to be called for the next stage.
• The accuracy of English Computer Typing Test (Part-B) and Hindi Computer Typing Test (Part-C) in percentage shall be equivalent to the marks obtained out of 100. For example, 90% accuracy = 90 marks.
