Vacancy Details

The total of 207 vacancies breaks down as 165 for APST, 42 for Unreserved. Fifteen seats are reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) across select posts and departments, and four are for Ex-Servicemen.

The LDC post (22/26) spans 14 state government departments. Department-wise breakup is below.

Note: Laboratory Assistant (21/26) has zero Unreserved seats, all 4 posts are APST-only. Agriculture Field Assistant carries exactly one UR seat out of 16. The PHE&WS department has reserved all 9 of its LDC vacancies as PwBD seats across three disability categories (3 each for categories 1, 2, and 3), which means general and APST applicants cannot compete for those 9 seats regardless of merit. For LDC under the Sainik Welfare cum Rajya Sainik Board, the eligibility additionally requires the candidate to be an Ex-Serviceman who served as a Combatant for at least 10 years and those 2 seats are not open to general applicants at all. Thus, only Stockman post is where the numbers genuinely work for a wider pool, with 89 total seats and 17 UR vacancies.

Application Fee

APST candidates pay Rs. 150 and Unreserved candidates pay Rs. 200 as the non-refundable application fee. PwD candidates are fully exempt. Payment must be made online only and there is no offline payment or bank challan option under this notification.

The fee is non-refundable in all circumstances, including where an application is rejected for being incomplete or incorrectly filled. Since no edits are possible after the closing date, every entry in the form needs to be reviewed carefully before final submission. The portal will disable immediately at 5:00 PM on August 10 and APSSB has made clear there will be no exceptions to this.

Age Limit

Age limits are calculated as on the closing date of application, which is August 10, 2026. They vary by post: Record Keeper/Record Clerk (23/26) has the most restrictive cap at 18 to 28 years. Agriculture Field Assistant (Jr), DEO, Junior Secretariat Assistant, and LDC (general applicants) allow up to 32 years. Field Assistant, Fishery Demonstrator, Laboratory Assistant, and Stockman allow up to 35 years.

The 28-year age limit for Record Keeper and Record Clerk is unusually strict. Both posts are Level-4, the same pay grade as Stockman, DEO, and LDC. But those roles allow candidates up to 32 or 35 years.

A 30-year-old with a Class XII certificate and computer diploma can apply for Stockman but not for Record Keeper. Same pay, same qualification, different age rule. This is not a standard government policy. It is specific to TRIHMS. Do not assume eligibility carries across posts. Educational Qualification

16/26 —> Agriculture Field Assistant (Jr): Class XII passed with Science from a recognized Board or Institution. Science stream is mandatory; a general or arts background does not qualify.

17/26 —> Data Entry Operator (DEO): Class XII from a recognized board. Typing speed of 35 words per minute on computer (equivalent to 10500 key depressions per hour at 5 depressions per word). Minimum 6-month Diploma in Computer Application from an institution recognized by AICTE or the Arunachal Pradesh Council for Technical Education (APCTEA).

18/26 —> Field Assistant (Land Management): Class XII passed with Mathematics or Geography. Alternatively, Class XII in any subject combined with a Survey course from a Government-recognized ITI.

19/26 —> Fishery Demonstrator: Class XII Science with Biology as one of the subjects from a recognized board. Biology must appear in the subject combination on the marksheet.

20/26 —> Junior Secretariat Assistant: Class XII from a recognized board. English typing speed of 35 wpm (10500 KDPH). Minimum 6-month Diploma in Computer Application from an AICTE or APCTEA-recognized institution.

21/26 —> Laboratory Assistant: Essential qualification is AISSCE or Class XII Science from a recognized board or institute. A Diploma in Laboratory Technology from a recognized university is desirable but not compulsory.

22/26 —> Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Class XII from a recognized board. Typing speed of 35 wpm (10500 KDPH). Minimum 6-month Diploma in Computer Application from an AICTE or APCTEA-recognized institution. For the LDC post specifically under the Sainik Welfare cum Rajya Sainik Board, the candidate must also be an Ex-Serviceman who served as a Combatant, preferably in a Clerk role, for a minimum of 10 years.

23/26 —> Record Keeper/Record Clerk: Class XII or equivalent from a recognized board. One-year Diploma in Computer Application.

On the computer diploma requirement for post codes 17/26, 20/26, 22/26, and 23/26 - the diploma must be from an institution specifically recognized by APCTEA or AICTE. Selection Process

All nine posts go through Stage I. Only three post codes proceed to Stage II.

Stage I is a 200-mark written examination completed in 2 hours. More details are shown in below image:

Every question is objective-type MCQ carrying 2 marks each. There is no negative marking. The minimum aggregate to qualify is 33% (66 out of 200). There are no subject-wise cutoffs.

Stage II is a Skill Test applicable only to Post Codes 17/26 (DEO), 20/26 (Junior Secretariat Assistant), and 22/26 (LDC). This test is qualifying in nature only and carries no marks toward merit rank. Clearing it is a condition for selection, but your final rank is entirely based on your Stage I score. For post codes 16/26, 18/26, 19/26, 21/26, 23/26, and 24/26, there is no Stage II at all so, Stage I performance is the sole basis for selection.

One important thing to note: there is no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of answer sheets after Stage I. Your exam day score is the final and only score. There is no grievance process for marks therefore, candidates should approach the examination accordingly.

Salary, Job Location, and Service Conditions

The pay structure follows the 7th Pay Commission matrix. Most posts are at Level-4, with a basic pay starting at Rs. 25,500 and going up to Rs. 81,100. Field Assistant (18/26) is the only post at Level-1, with a range of Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900. Fishery Demonstrator (19/26) is at Level-2, starting at Rs. 19,900.

These are basic pay figures only but In-hand salary will include dearness allowance (DA) and other allowances applicable under Arunachal Pradesh state government norms. Field Assistant and Fishery Demonstrator carry a noticeably lower starting pay compared to Level-4 posts, candidates who are eligible for both may want to factor this into their preference order.

Posting is within Arunachal Pradesh, but the specific station depends on the department and post. Stockman under Animal Husbandry operates across district and sub-district offices statewide, and with 89 vacancies, remote posting in less accessible districts is also possible. Field Assistant under Land Management involves survey and field work. Fishery Demonstrator, given Arunachal Pradesh's extensive river systems and developing inland fishery sector, similarly involves field-level work in department postings that may be rural. What the Category Split Means for You

Out of 207 total seats, 165 are reserved for APST candidates. For Unreserved applicants, the real numbers are much smaller. Stockman has 17 UR seats. LDC has about 16 UR seats across all departments. Agriculture Field Assistant has just 1 UR seat. Laboratory Assistant has none. Do not look at the total vacancy number. Map your eligibility against the UR seats available for your specific post before you apply.

Choose Your Preferences Carefully

APSSB asks you to rank your post and department preferences during the application itself, not after the exam. Once submitted, this order is locked. For LDC alone, you need to rank 14 departments. Marking Sainik Welfare as a preference without being an ex-serviceman who served 10 years as a Combatant is a wasted slot. Departments like Election (7 vacancies) and PWD (8 vacancies) have more seats. Skill Development has just one. Think through this before July 20. You cannot change it later.

Typing Test is Pass or Fail, Prepare Accordingly

For DEO, Junior Secretariat Assistant, and LDC, the typing test is simple. You either pass or fail. If you fail, your written score does not matter. The requirement is 35 words per minute.
