- Post-selection: Can you relocate to Bihar for posting?
If NO to any, reconsider or wait for next recruitment.
Common Application Mistakes (Avoid These)
Mistake 1: Photo/Signature Issues
Problem: Blurry images, wrong size, colored backgrounds cause rejection.
Fix: Get studio photos, scan at 300 DPI, upload JPG format exactly as specified.
Mistake 2: Caste Certificate Validity
Problem: Expired or incorrectly formatted certificates rejected at verification.
Fix: Ensure certificate from competent authority (SDO/Circle Officer), within validity period.
Mistake 3: CGPA Not Converted
Problem: Submitting CGPA instead of percentage causes mismatch during verification.
Fix: Use official university conversion formula, keep letter of conversion ready.
Mistake 4: Missing Documents
Problem: One missing document delays entire final selection process.
Fix: Collect ALL originals + photocopies BEFORE starting application. Make checklist.
Mistake 5: Last-Minute Application
Problem: May 31 deadline sees server overload. Portal may be slow. Submission confirmation delayed.
Fix: Apply by May 25 at latest. Keep screenshot of payment receipt as backup.
Physical Fitness Standards
Physical standards are mandatory only for specific posts like Bihar Police Service (DSP) and District Fire Officer. Candidates must meet these criteria to be eligible for these services:

Preparation Reality Check
What Actually Works (Based on Previous Cycles)
High-weightage topics in BPSC Prelims:
- Bihar history & geography (20-25 questions)
- Indian polity (20-25 questions)
- Current affairs (15-20 questions)
- General science (10-15 questions)
- Others (geography, economics, general knowledge)
Common pattern: Candidates preparing only UPSC-style material without Bihar-specific focus typically score 40-45% (below safe cutoff of 50%). Those who dedicate time to Bihar topics score 55-65%.
3-month preparation window (Jun-Aug):
- Month 1: NCERT books + Bihar history/geography
- Month 2: Practice tests + weak area revision
- Month 3: Speed + accuracy focus + current affairs updates
Negative marking strategy: 1/3rd mark deducted per wrong answer. Unanswered questions safe. Attempt only if you can narrow down to 2 options.
Mains preparation (if selected):
- General Hindi: Most candidates score 30-40%. 2-3 hours daily practice works.
- General Studies: Depth matters. Topic-wise preparation better than broad reading.
- Optional: Choose based on graduation background, not popularity.
Interview: Most candidates fail due to poor Hindi communication or lack of Bihar awareness. Spend time on Hindi speaking practice + reading Bihar administrative reports.
